HoopXHang 2011 SXSW: Stalley, Casey Veggies, Dom Kennedy + More

The first annual HoopXHang was held at the Dorris Miller Auditorium in Austin, Texas during SXSW.

Nick Huff (Hard Knock TV) and John Gotty (The Smoking Section) developed the idea for the event at the Nike WBF 2010. Their mutual love of music and previous SXSW experiences combined with the idea of “let’s do a basketball get-together for everybody while we’re in Austin next year.” The goal was to create a situation where artists and media could get together outside of the dark, crowded confines of the bars and clubs, getting a chance to intermingle without microphones, performances and the demands of content hanging over anyone. They also wanted to bring the public in to join the fun.
